Shuttle SB51

  • Intel Chipset

  • Hyper-Threading

  • DDR 333

That list brings us to the present. Looking at the past, we?ve seen the Shuttle XPC line evolve very quickly in just seven months. All three of the above revisions to Shuttle?s Pentium IV XPC line were much needed and embraced by the SFF community. As the popularity of the XPC line grew, so did its uses. Shuttle has always listened to the market demands and hopes to satisfy a new kind of XPC market with the launch of their SB52G2.

What is the market for the SB52G2?

The SB52G2 is targeted towards the server/client market. The SB52G2 will ship in two flavors: Server and Client. The server model is equipped with a Dual Intel NICs with one of them having Gigabit capability. The client version is identical to the server version except for it will feature a single NIC and ship at a lower cost.

The SB52G2 is designed to better suit small and medium size businesses (especially ones that don?t have dedicated server rooms) where space, price and noise are all concerns when dealing with a client/server. As a result, the SB52G2 is not a replacement for the SB51 as the two XPCs are designed towards a different market.
